If you are new to the H&R Block tax software, welcome!
The program's Interview starts by asking you for your personal information. Be sure to have the following information handy:
Your 2009 federal tax return.
Your Social Security number.
The Date of birth and Social Security number for your spouse and dependents (if any).
We also suggest that:
You spend a few minutes gathering your important paperwork.
You check out our shortcut keys which can save you time when completing your return.
You check for a program update before beginning your return.
If you used TurboTax last year, you can start by importing your last year's TurboTax data into this year's H&R Block return. The data you import is displayed in brown throughout the Interview. You can review and edit the information as you go through the Interview. Or, you can review all your imported data using the Review Last Year's Data report.
Keep in mind, you can also use Help Central and Search to locate what you are looking for from anywhere in the program.
