If you're using Quicken 2011, the Interview explains how to export data from Quicken 2011. After you have exported data from Quicken, you can then use the Interview to import the data into the H&R Block software.
As you go through the Interview, the data that you import is displayed as brown text. You can change anything you need to at that time. You can also view and change the imported information any time by selecting Review Financial Imports from the Reports menu to display the Import Report.
Click the Take Me To button.
From the Welcome section, select Smart Import.
Click Go To.
On the Import Data From Financial Software screen, select Yes and click Next.
Select Quicken 2011, and then click Next.
Follow the instructions for exporting Quicken tax data, and then click Import. The program displays the the Smart Import.dialog box.
Select the Quicken tax data file you created and click Open. If the file is located in a different folder, navigate to that folder.
Follow the instructions for exporting Quicken capital gains data, and then click Import. The program displays the Import Financial Data from...dialog box.
Select the Quicken capital gains data file you created and click Open. If the file is located in a different folder, navigate to that folder.
The program automatically imports your data.
You must first export data from Quicken. Follow the instructions listed below:
Open Quicken.
Create a Tax Schedule Report. Make sure you create a Tax Schedule Report, NOT a Tax Summary Report.
Click Export on the Tax Schedule Report button bar.
Save the Tax Schedule Report in your HRBlock directory. Make sure you give the file name a .txf extension and specify the file type as Tax Export File.
Using your Investment Account, create a Capital Gains Report.
Click Export on the Capital Gains Report button bar.
Save the Capital Gains Report in your HRBlock directory. Make sure you give the file name a .txf extension and specify the file type as
Open the H&R Block program.
From the File menu, choose Import Financial Information. The Smart Import dialog box is displayed.
Select Quicken and version 2011, and then click Next. The Import Financial Data from... dialog box displays.
Select the tax export file (.txf) file you created, and click Import Selected File. The program automatically displays the data to be imported. You can change the imported information at this time.
Click Import.
Repeat steps 9 through 12, only this time select the capital gains export file (.txf) file you created.
