If you haven't saved your tax return by the time you complete at least one topic in the Interview process, you will be prompted to save it.
From the File menu, choose Save (or press Ctrl+S). The program displays the Save As dialog.
Type a name for the new return. By default the program saves the new file in the My Documents\HRBlock folder.
If you want to save the file in a different folder, click Browse. Another dialog box opens.
Navigate to the folder where you want to store your return and click OK.
Click OK on the
Save As dialog box.
The program saves the new file using the file name you specified. The file name appears in the title bar at the top of the program window.
You can save your tax return to a new file that has a different name, or that resides in a different folder or disk drive. You can play "what if" games by saving slightly different variations on your tax returns under several different names. You can also make a backup copy of your tax return by saving it to a removable disk.
From the File menu, choose Save As. The Save As dialog box appears.
Type a new file name for the return in the Name field. By default the program saves the new file in the My Documents/HRBlock folder.
If you want to save the copy in a different folder, click Browse. A new dialog box opens.
Navigate to the folder where you want to store your return and click OK.
Click OK on the
Save As dialog box.
The program saves the current tax return to the file name you specified, and switches to that file. You are now working in the new file. Notice that the new file name appears in the title bar at the top of the window.
