At the beginning of the Federal Interview, before you start preparing your return, the program asks you if any life changing events have occurred since you last filed your taxes.
For each event that you select on the Life Changes screen, the program gives you extra guidance and advice throughout the Interview process.
Life changes events include the following:
Got married.
Got divorced or separated.
Had a baby.
Adopted a child.
Lost a spouse.
Had a major illness or medical expense.
Started a new job.
Started a business.
Moved for job-related reasons.
Lost a job.
Retired.
Bought a house
Started investing.
Opened a retirement account.
Inherited property.
Had a foreclosure.
