Editing an Itemized List Title

An itemized list is automatically named using the form and line number to which the list belongs. If you want to file the itemized list as a supporting document with your tax return, do not change this title. But if you are keeping the itemized list only for your own purposes, you can edit the list title.

Note: If you have multiple copies of a particular form and each copy of the form has its own itemized list, make sure you give each itemized list its own unique title so that you can identify which list goes with which copy of the form.

To change the default title of the itemized list to your own title:

  1. Click in the title field, and highlight "Click here to enter your own title."

  2. Type the title you want, and click OK. Your new title does not appear on top of the itemized list window, but it will show at the top of the list when you print it.

To restore the default title:

  1. Select the text in the title field and press the Delete or Backspace key.

  2. Click OK. The program restores the default title.
