Annual Call to Conclave

Events of these last weeks and months have conspired to cause your founder (and hero) to be somewhat tardy in the implementation of the annual call. As in the past, the awesome burden of serving as your omniscient and esteemed (but still underpaid) founder weighs heavy upon these shoulders. Ken-Ev Campground, traditional locus for the annual ELR&SS Encampment (proposed now for the ninth consecutive year!). However, your founder, with the membership’s interests ever at heart, ascertained from mutterings overheard at this year’s Iola slime and sleaze party that Ken-Ev was accepting campers as recently as last weekend’s RA festivities. Conversation with a campground representative again revealed, however, that that condition might not continue through the July Historics.

Should, however, in their infinite wisdom, the EPA, DNR, and Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department have seen fit to bar the gate on that fetid pit, the alternative venue shall again be the Sheboygan Marsh County Park public campground (located just a few miles northwest of Elkhart Lake on County J). As noted in last year’s epistle, the "Marsh" has been the scene of many previous encampments prior, even, to the halcyon days of LaBudde’s Acres. Indeed, some of our numbers’ earliest and, perhaps, fondest Road America memories can be traced to that glorified, albeit appealing, swamp.
