You can create an itemized list for an entry field on a form when you have to enter an amount that is the total of two or more items. The total is automatically carried to the entry field for which you created the itemized list.
For example, suppose you are itemizing your deductions and you come to the entry field for charitable contributions. Because you're such a generous person, you have a substantial list of donations. You can create an itemized list for that entry field, listing the name of the charity and the amount donated to each. The program automatically carries the total of the contributions to the entry field when you close the itemized list.
An equal sign (=) appears next to an entry that has been carried from an itemized list.
The H&R Block software allows you to:
Move itemized lists from one form field to another.
Print the itemized lists with your return.
Note: Although an itemized list is not part of your official return, you can submit it to the IRS or state with your return as supporting data.
